Emergency responders rushed to a strip of sand just north of Buchanan Street, near Sheldon Beach, yesterday day to find a physician among a group of bystanders trying to revive a 45-year-old man from Jenison. Their attempts proved to be unsuccessful.

Authorities believe at this point that the victim suffered a heart attack while walking alone along the shoreline, but are awaiting results of an autopsy before determining a cause of death. The man’s name wasn’t immediately disclosed pending notification of relatives as the incident remains under investigation.
