Milwaukee, Wis. (WHBL-Learfield) - Brewers’ Hall-of-Fame radio broadcaster Bob Uecker has been released from a Milwaukee hospital, after he had a successful heart operation nine days ago. It was his second procedure this year – and it was needed to remove a small tear caused by a staph infection connected with the first surgery in April. The 75-year-old Uecker thanked the doctors and staff at Milwaukee’s Froedtert (fray-dert) Hospital for the care he received, and he’s encouraged to be going home. Uecker also said he appreciates the many kind words he’s received from the Brewers and their fans. Uecker expects to be ready in time for next year’s spring training.
