DETROIT -- The Michigan/Michigan State game is always a big deal but there may be more at stake this year than just state bragging rights and the Paul Bunyan Trophy. Both teams come into this weekend’s game undefeated and ranked, and a win this weekend could boost them even higher in the rankings. It has some paying up to $2,000 for tickets, and has one Detroit fan putting off surgery to receive a new pacemaker until after this weekend.
Sixty-nine-year-old Major Hester says he doesn’t want complications from surgery to keep him from seeing the game. He had been scheduled for surgery yesterday, but cancelled. He says he will be rooting for the Spartans, but trying to keep calm. His surgery has been rescheduled for next week, when he due to get his third pacemaker installed.
