(Lansing, MI) -- Federal, state and local police arrested 144 non-compliant sex offenders during the most recent sweep in the state. Michigan State Police said Monday the effort is part of increasing compliance with Michigan's sex offender registration law and was the seventh in five years. Felony sex offenders are required by law to verify their addresses every quarter, while those convicted of a misdemeanor offense on the registry have to verify their address in the first 15 days of the year.
