FENNVILLE, MI (WHTC News) - Allegan Co. authorities report that M-89 through downtown Fennville was closed off due to a reported natural gas leak. Construction workers in the area of 58th Street and M-89 apparently ruptured a line around 9:30 AM, and the immediate area was completely cordoned off as crews were working to repair the line, and weather conditions were favorable for blowing the escaped gas out quickly. M-Dot officials initially said that the closure is expected to last through 2 PM, but the repairs were completed around 12:30 PM. There were no reports of any injuries or damage caused as a result of the leak.
