Surprise, Ariz (WSAU) Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Mat Gamel will miss at least 6 weeks with a torn muscle in his right shoulder. Gamel hasn't played since March 8th. He was expected to challenge for the starting job this spring.

On the field the Brewers lost to Texas last night 6-4. Manny Parra was roughed up for five runs in five innings while strking out five. Brewer batters couldn't do much striking out 16 times in the game. Jonathon Lucroy hit a homer for Milwaukee.

Dave Bush pitched well in the B game allowing 1 run on three hits in five innings. Bush and Parra are competing for a spot in the starting rotation.

Trevor Hoffman will make his spring debut today in the game with the Angels.
