(Detroit, MI) -- The U.S. Coast Guard has put an end to the Detroit International Bridge Company's attempt to build a second Ambassador Bridge. The Coast Guard sent a letter to DIBC President Dan Stamper yesterday, explaining that the decision was based in part on continuing property rights disputes with the city of Detroit. DIBC owner Matty Moroun wants to build a new span to replace the 80-year-old bridge that he owns. Moroun's application was submitted in June of 2006. It can be resubmitted if the property ownership questions are settled.
