Karmanos: Hopes Judge, Prosecutor Are Happy With Kilpatrick In Prison

(Detroit, MI)  --  Compuware CEO Pete Karmanos is defending Kwame Kilpatrick and his own decision to hire the former Detroit mayor for a sales job.  In an interview with WDIV-TV on Tuesday, the owner of the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes criticized the Wayne County Prosecutor's office for pursuing the Kilpatrick case and the jury in the 2008 whistleblower lawsuit.  Karmanos said that he hopes Judge David Groner and Prosecutor Kym Worthy are "very happy" about Kilpatrick being in prison.  Kilpatrick was sentenced to at least 14 months in prison for violating probation.  According to Karmanos, the former mayor was offered a job in Dallas to, quote, "get him out of the city" so Detroit, quote, "wouldn't have to go through this."
