HOLLAND -- President Barack Obama spoke today at the groundbreaking of a lithium-ion battery plant in Holland. The President pointed to the facility as evidence that the administration's five-billion dollar investment in electric vehicle manufacturing is paying off.
The 300-million dollar facility is being built by South Korean LG Chem, and will be operated by its Michigan-based subsidiary, Compact Power Incorporated. The plant is scheduled for completion in 2012 and will reportedly employ about three-hundred people.
