WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Senator Byron Dorgan said on Friday that lawmakers need more information from Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke before they vote on whether to confirm him to a second term.
"I don't think the U.S. Congress should proceed with his nomination until he tells us what was the consequence of opening the loan window at the Federal Reserve board to investment banks for the first time in history," Dorgan, a member of Democratic leadership, said in a Senate speech.
Dorgan had announced on Thursday his intention to vote against the nomination.
