The Attorney General of New York State is expected to join Michigan in pressing the state of Illinois to close a 100-year-old shipping and sanitary canal.
It’s a last ditch effort to keep the Asian Carp from invading the Great Lakes. Michigan filed the suit asking the Supreme Court to issue and injunction closing the canal until a more permanent solution can be found.
Attorney General Andrew Cuomo says New York will join AG’s from Wisconsin, Minnesota and Ohio in filing supporting briefs.
