WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House urged Iran on Tuesday to inform the International Atomic Energy Agency if it has changed its mind and is now ready to go ahead with an earlier agreement to send its low-enriched uranium abroad for processing.
"We made a good faith and balanced offer regarding the Tehran research reactor," said White House spokesman Mike Hammer. "We believe it makes sense for all parties. If Mr. Ahmadinejad's comments reflect an updated Iranian position, we look forward to Iran informing the IAEA."
