(Detroit, MI - WHTC News) - The candidates at the top of Michigan's two major party tickets for the November 2nd General Election are now set.
A day after state Republicans established their list of hopefuls, state Democrats agreed with their ticket on Sunday at Detroit's Cobo Center. Supporting gubernatorial nominee Virgil Bernero is Southfield Mayor Brenda Lawrence for Lieutenant Governor, Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton for Attorney General, Jocelyn Benson for Secretary of State, and Alton Davis and Denise Langford Morris for Supreme Court. Davis was named on Thursday to complete the term of the suddenly-retired Elizabeth Weaver, shifting the balance of power in Michigan's court of last resort to the Dems.
