(Detroit, MI) -- Republican gubernatorial nominee Rick Snyder is expected to announce his running mate today as Democrat Virgil Bernero considers his options. The "Detroit Free Press" reports that state Representative Brian Calley of Portland will be tapped for the lieutenant governor slot on the GOP ticket. Calley is 33-years-old and has been elected to the state Legislature twice. According to the "Detroit News," Bernero's staff is vetting Wayne State University Vice President Harvey Hollins the Third, Detroit City Council President Pro Tem Gary Brown, and Livonia-based Bartech Group President Jon Barfield. Both parties have their state conventions on Saturday.
