LANSING -- The Michigan Department of Education has released its list of the 92 lowest-achieving schools in the state. The schools on the list will have 90-days to submit turnaround plans to the state, and some could be placed in a statewide school reform district.
Nearly half of the schools on the list, 42 out of 92, are in Detroit. The schools were identified based on low test scores, failure to meet federal academic goals, and graduation rates below 60-percent.
