MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour was in Milwaukee Thursday at a high-dollar fundraiser for the Republican Governors Association.

The event is not your average fundraiser, at least by Wisconsin standards. According to an invitation posted at Wispolitics.com, the minimum donation is $25,000 with corporate contributions accepted.

Wisconsin Common Cause Director Jay Heck says the high price of admission means the RGA is going after a very select group of donors to influence Wisconsin's election.

Heck says the money will be turned around and used to influence the outcome of an election here in Wisconsin. A review of IRS records by Wisconsin Public Radio last month showed that Wisconsin donors gave the group more than $350,000 in the first half of this year, which included seven donations of $25,000 or more.
