(Lansing, MI)  --  Michigan State Police Lieutenant Colonel Eddie Washington will take over as the MSP director next month.  Governor Granholm promoted Washington to fill the position held by Colonel Peter Munoz, who is becoming a federal marshal for the Western District of Michigan.  Washington has been with the state police for nearly 26 years and is currently the deputy director of the force and commander of the Field Services Bureau.  In order to take the job as a United States Marshal, Munoz is retiring from the Michigan State Police effective May 23.
