China Ractopamine Dispute

 The U.S. pork industry insists U.S. trade officials won’t sacrifice its interests in a long-running dispute with Taiwan over pork and beef treated with the leanness additive ractopamine. The National Pork Producers Council recently stepped up pressure on top U.S. officials to insist Taiwan relax its ban on pork imports treated with ractopamine - the same way Taiwan’s now preparing to do so for beef imports.
