Fords's Burgers Bamboozled

Posted by Red Kingman on

There's a bit of irony in the story of a venerable California burger joint that is being shut down after fifty years of service due to an ADA lawsuit.  The ADA is the Americans with Disabilities Act, and a lawsuit brought by an attorney named Scott Johnson of San Francisco, who is himself handicapped, and who makes a living by bringing these types of cases – often on his own behalf if that means anything.

What really chaps my hide is the fact that another long time customer who is handicapped (handicapable?) has no problem getting in and out of the place.

“I’ve been coming here 21 years,” said jerry Silvia. Silvia is paralyzed from the chest down, but that did stop him from making Ford’s a favorite.  1/3 pounder with fries is his regular order.

Wouldn't you think that this would kind of nullify the lawsuit??
