In Name Only

Since the crucifixion people from all walks of life have called themselves Christians. Meaning that they identify with Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection.  The problem is that many of these same people have yet to be born again..and Jesus said it himself when talking to Nicodemus the Pharisee in John 3: "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

So I am a bit troubled to read that one of these "pseudo" believers who is also a pastor received an award for non-Christ like actions.  The person in question is Pastor ron Baity and the award he was given was their highest “pro-family” award of the year. Yep, this is the person who gave a sermon to his church that compared being gay with being a murderer. He also said, “I can’t believe the perverseness of two men or two women wanting to slobber over each other … that’s worse than sick. I don’t even think maggots would do that.” He is on record longing for the days when “we had laws that would prosecute [the homosexual] lifestyle.” In a radio interview, he said accepting gay people would make society “more filthy” and said, “They cannot reproduce, so they recruit.”

It is so called "Christians" like this pastor who really give a bad name to those who are born again of the spirit and are truly "Christ like", and makes our religion appear to be utterly false.
