President Obama made certain during his address to the nation on Monday March 28th 2011 that the American public understand he does not intend to put American troops on the ground in Libya.

Then I read that Twenty-two hundred Marines and sailors from Camp Lejeune are preparing to deploy off the coast of Libya in northern Africa. They said goodbye to their families Monday afternoon, and they'll be leaving in the days ahead.

Why? Are those Marines pilots or ground troops?  And if they are ground troops as I suspect they are, then why are they going to Libya?
