Why Are We In Libya Again?

Posted by Red Kingman on

Ok, let me see if I've got this right: The UN authorized a "no fly zone" and an "all means necessary" edict to protect Libyan civillians.  Seems more like it's to AID the rebels.  It wasn't our Congress dthat authorized this action, but the UN.  Since when did we start taking orders from the UN?  And I thought that president Obama was moving the United States away from "police of the world" status, yet here we are again deploying personnell, aircraft, and armament onto foreign soil.

How soon before we send in troops to "help" the civillians...or the rebels who have bitten off more than they can chew?  And speaking of chewing, this is kind of hard to swallow; we aren't there in Libya to take Gadaffi out, even though Obama said "Gadaffi must go", no we are there to make sure Gadaffi fights "fair".  Really though, why are we there in Libya?  Gadaffi has been doing this same kind of thing off and on for years and the UN didn't seem to give a hoot then so why now all of a sudden? Conservative and liberal viewpoints please.
