In the wake of the tragic Japan earthquake and subsequent tsunami we can't help but feel sorrow for the tens of thousands who have been displaced, injured, lost and killed. The devastation to the infrastructure, to homes and buildings, and schools, and farms, and literally everything is hard to fathom. The images don't do justice to the magnitude of the situation, nor does it really help us in understanding what those people are going through.
However there are some who hold a completely different view about this disaster. The first time I heard what I am about to share with you I didn't think much of it. It was an off hand remake between two friends. But when a second WWII veteran AND a middle aged woman repeated the same thing, I had to share it here with you. They all said that perhaps this was Japan's payback for all the terrible things they did in the pacific, in WWII and to the U.S. economy in the subsequent years in the areas of technology and automobiles.
