Did you hear the story about the police who used a Taser to subdue the 10-yr-old? Oh yes, it happened in Martinsville, Indiana where the officers responded Tuesday evening to Tender Teddies Day Care on reports of a 10-year-old who was out of control. And lets face it, if you have seen an episode of The Nanny you know that some 10-yr-olds can be little NIGHTMARES! The officers claim they were only trying to prevent the child from hurting other children, staff members and himself by first slapping him, then using a Taser to bring him down. A press release from the mayor's office said, "While the department will not condone the unnecessary treatment of any subject, regardless of age, in any apprehension situation, additional comments will not be made pending results of the final investigation." Officials said the two officers, whose names weren't released, have been suspended with pay and placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation by the Morgan County Sheriff's Department.
This must have been one tough 10-yr-old! After all, two grown men could not bring the child under control with a slap in the face, so what else could they do? Use lethal force? Of course not, so a shot from the Taser was the next best thing. Seriously? Two grown, trained, full size, male police officers can't take down a 10-tr-old without Tasers??
