ITS TIME TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT DETROIT.
Detroit is part of Michigan and it is in need of help. The city government of Detroit is trying to make a go of it, but they will have to change their financial wqys to succeed. That is why we have the power to appoint a temporary overseer--to make sure the money is going where it is needed with no city officials like former Mayor Kilpatrick siphoning off the top for his own benefit. I'm sure most of us could find things Detroit can do without. What they need is a a fresh start to clean up the dilapidated properties amd bring the city down to a manageable size and one the residents can support. I have not visited the city for some time, but I have talked to many who have. The first inclination is to get a bulldozer and clean it up for farmland. Many still call it home and do now want to move. Henry FordII had a good start when the foreign car sales, began to make a dent on American car sales. Now Detroit needs more to bring it back to the goode old days. We cant sit on the West side of the State and ignore the problems.
