IS THE DEER SEASON DOOMED THIS YEAR?
Many dead deer are being found in Michigan due to EHD(Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease). Several were found on th former West Shore Golf Course. One farmer reported a cornfield with about thirty dead deer. This was in Allegan County but other counties have been affected. Experts report EHD cannot be transmitted to humans, so the venison is safe to eat. The DNR will be doing some atudies and make adjustmentws in seasons etc if necessary. At this point approximately 8500 deer have been affected. It is certain that this disease will have an impact on this year's deer harvest. Would you eat the venison of a deer that had EHD?
