IS PARTY MEMBERSHIP A MUST?

I wass once a dyed in the wool Democrat, I suppose because my Father was. Roosevelt brought many into the party because he represented real change and did change things a lot in a short time, when he got in office, March 4, 1932.  Certainly different than the Democrat party of today.  Most of the people that were unemployed when Obama got in office are still unemployed.  The so-called middle class is becoming extinct instead of working and paying taxes.  I cannot imagine President Kennedy sitting on his hands while the country seeks a way out of the economic mess we find ourselves in today. The party, in fact, both parties are  wrapped up in stqying in power while America withers on the vine.  

I became an Independent when a County Chairman, put politics before good leadership.Since that time I have voted what I thought was best for America.
