WHATS ON THE NEWS TONIGHT?
For some eighty years, I have listened to or watched the evening news. I remember my Father saying, "Quiet, H.V.Kaltenborn is on." or any of the others such as Clifton Utley or Gabriel Heater. Later on TV it was Douglas Edwards or Chet and David. I always assumed they were journalists who happened to have a good voice, who would present the stories unbaised and factually. They would not skew the news to favor any special person or purpose.
Somewhere, news has gone haywire. Now the networks give us one sided news. For stories favoring President Obama, listen to ABC,CBS,or NBC. For the opposition critical of the President, listen to Fox. The bias is usually accomplished using news stories adapted to the situation, special reporters to give a slant to the news or film clips or sound bites to achieve the desired effect.
I would like to hear another "Goodnight David" and "Goodnight Chet" wouldn't you?
