The east coast states experienced a devasting storm the last few days.

Among the casualties was the tall ship "Bounty" which was sailing to Florida.  The Captain tried to skirt the storm but was caught in it, losing his ship as well as his life.  Fourteen crew members were saved from the sinking vessel.  The Bounty was used in a remake of the origional movie.

The Bounty was made famous by a trilogy of books written by Nordoff and Hall. The books were "Mutiny OnThe Bounty," "Men Against the Sea," and "Pitcarin's Island."

The authors lived much of their lives in Tahiti and wrote about the area with knowledge. They first met when they both served in tht Lafayette Escadrille for the French.  Their first book, "Falcons of France" about some of their adventures during WW1. Its a good read for anyone interested in thtat part of history.

The Bounty sinking will probable mark the end of movies about it.
