COTTON ROGERS was a good friend of WHTC. For many years Cotton was a member of the Holland Jamporee, a weekly program of live country music put into being by disc jocky Howdy Joyce. On Saturday night the show went live at the Womens Literary Club, always playing to a good crowd. Once a week they were live in the studio, when they filled the little green shack with talent and instruments. Cotton was always a sparkling part of the show. Cotton did many things well. On the Holland Police Dept, he handled some tough assignments, especially at night when he would travel around town in plain clothes, checking the streets and alleyways. He was my friend when I started working at the station and he remained a friend through the years.
FAREWELL FRIEND COTTON.
