THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION IS ADVOCATING A REDUCTION OF SODIUM USED BY FOOD MANUFACTURERS AND RESTAURANTS BY 50 PERCENT OVER A 10 YEAR PERIOD.
THE NEW YORK LEGISLATURE IS WORKING ON A BILL THAT WOULD BAN THE USE OF SALT IN RESTAURANT COOKING. IT SETS UP A FINE OF $1000 FOR ANY CHEF THAT USES SALT IN FOOD TO BE CONSUMED BY RESTAURANT PATRONS.
CHEFS ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THE PROPOSAL SAYING THEY ARE TIRED OF POLITICIANS DICTATING WHAT THEY CAN SERVE.
