(New York, NY) -- The ASPCA is calling its intercontinental rescue effort, "Operation Chihuahua," a success. Dozens of New Yorkers, lining around the ASPCA's Manhattan headquarters on the Upper East Side, were hoping to give a little pooch a new, loving home. Fifteen Chihuahuas were put up for adoption after getting flown to New York last week from Northern California, where shelters are overwhelmed with them.
