Some 340 Hope College students—primarily new students but also other students serving as team leaders—will spend from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, doing volunteer work in the Holland area through the “Time to Serve” program, a feature added to the college’s “New Student Orientation” program in the fall of 2000.

They will meet at about 9 a.m. in the auditorium of the college’s Maas Center, located on Columbia Avenue at 11^th Street, and will then travel to destinations including the sites listed in the next part of this announcement beginning at 10 a.m.

The students will be serving in teams of six-10 at more than 35 sites throughout the greater Holland area.  “Time to Serve” is intended to inspire interest in service while helping acquaint the members of the new Class of 2016 with the Holland community and with other students.
