SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Republicans John James, Mike Rogers and Bill Huizenga spent Saturday campaigning for votes in South Haven, while Democrats held their nominating convention in Lansing.
The three all said Michigan needs leadership change and noted the state has not elected a Republican to the U.S. Senate in over 30 years.
They put their focus on Democrats and not the work of the Trump administration, with Rogers saying Michigan has lost 200,000 manufacturing jobs in the last 25 years, has the highest utility rates in the Midwest and the highest auto insurance rates in the nation.
James compared this fall’s election to the tensions that resulted in the founding of the Republican Party just before the Civil War.
