Carolyn Joyce Gilman, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 16, 2024. She was a graduate of the GRJC Practical Nursing Program and worked as an LPN at Holland Hospital for more than 33 years. Carolyn and her husband Jim enjoyed many, many years of camping and traveling. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Hilda (Stein) Wightman, husband Jim, sisters and brothers, Lucille (Keith) Van Koevering, Fran (Milton) Strand, Phil (Fae) Wightman, Dale Wightman, and brother-in-law Ted Gilman.
She is survived by her children, Steve (Marilyn) Gilman, Deb Gilman and Rhonda Thayer; as well as her sister Doris (George) Peltier, sisters-in-law Marilyn Gilman and Judy Wightman; many beloved nephews and nieces, family, and friends.
A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be 11:00 am, Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Dykstra Funeral Homes- Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue in Holland. Pastor Susan Beaver will be officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:00 – 10:45 am prior to the service at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to be to Harbor Shores Humane Society or Hospice of Holland.
